Abbie Grace Duggar (née Burnett) (born April 16, 1992) is the fourth child and second daughter of John Burnett and Cheryl Burnett.

She is the sister of John-Clay Burnett, Hannah Dornink, Caleb Burnett, Charity Wearden, Maggie Becerra Nino, Carinna Penn, and Benjamin Burnett.

She is the wife of John-David Duggar and the mother of their children, Grace and Charlie.

Abbie Grace Burnett was born on April 16, 1992, in Oklahoma, to John Burnett and Cheryl Burnett. She was the couple's fourth child, and they went on to have four more children after her.

Along with her siblings, Abbie was homeschooled growing up. She and her siblings were raised as active participants of Bill Gothard's Institute in Basic Life Principles, and regularly attended the yearly Advanced Training Institute conferences in Big Sandy, Texas.

Growing up, Abbie participated in hunting, recreational shooting, and fishing with her family.

At some point as a child, Abbie started taking both piano and violin lessons. In January 2011, she attended The Wilds Christian Music Camp in Brevard, North Carolina.

As a teenager, Abbie participated in Journey to the Heart, a Christian retreat for teens and young adults to spend time focused on God.

On June 26, 2018, Abbie announced that she was courting John-David Duggar. On May 6, 2018, they met when John-David attended Abbie's church, Ada First Baptist Church in Ada, Oklahoma, where his parents were speaking and had a book signing. They both grew up going to the same homeschool conferences, but didn't meet until then. They immediately started texting each other and didn't stop. On May 14, 2018, John-David asked Abbie to officially court him. Their courtship announcement was featured on the Counting On episode "Josiah and Lauren's Prank-Less Wedding?".

On July 25, 2018, Abbie and John-David announced that they were engaged. On July 16, 2018, they got engaged at the Gillespie County Airport hangar in Fredericksburg, Texas. John-David wanted to share his love of airplanes and proposed in an old-fashioned airplane hangar. They flew to the Airport Diner with John-David's twin sister Jana and Abbie's younger sister Maggie. After they finished eating, he proposed to her at the airplane hangar connected to the diner. Their engagement was featured on the Counting On episode "Love is in the Air".

On November 3, 2018, Abbie married John-David Duggar at Ada First Baptist Church in Ada, Oklahoma. The wedding had around 1,000 guests. The couple shared their first kiss at the altar. The wedding was officiated by Abbie's father John Burnett and Bob Gray. Abbie's matron of honor was her sister Hannah. Her bridesmaids were her sisters Charity, Maggie, and Carinna, John's twin sister Jana, and two unknown friends. The flower girls were John's sister Jordyn, John's niece Meredith, and an unknown girl. John's best man was his brother Joseph. His groomsmen were his brother Josh, his brother-in-law Austin, Abbie's brother Benjamin, and three unknown friends. The ring bearers were John's nephews Marcus and Israel and Abbie's nephew Evan. The usher was John's brother Justin. John's brother Josiah and John's sister-in-law Lauren were singers in the wedding. The wedding reception was held at an airplane hangar. Her dress was designed by Renee Miller of Renee's Bridal. Their wedding was featured on the Counting On episodes "John-David and Abbie's Wedding" and "A Bachelor No More".

For their honeymoon, Abbie and John-David went to an undisclosed beach location. In February 2019, they took a bigger trip/second honeymoon to Finland. Their honeymoon was featured on the Counting On episode "Count Your Blessings".

On August 1, 2019, Abbie and John-David announced that they were expecting their first child, due 2020. The due date was later revealed to be January 2020. On August 20, 2019, they revealed that they were expecting a girl. On January 9, 2020, Abbie and John-David announced that their daughter, Grace Annette, was born at 3:21 a.m. on January 7, 2020, in Arkansas. She weighed 7 pounds and 11 ounces, and was 20 ¾ inches long. Her birth was featured on the Counting On episode "Meet Gracie Duggar".

On May 8, 2022, Abbie and John-David announced that they were expecting their second child, a boy, due late Summer 2022. On October 1, 2022, Abbie and John-David announced that their son, Charlie, was born in September 2022, in Arkansas.

Health[]

Abbie eats a gluten-free and sugar-free diet. She cut these out of her diet after having stomach problems.

During her pregnancy with Grace, Abbie had severe morning sickness, which then led to a diagnosis of hyperemesis gravidarum. Due to this condition, she was hospitalized and put on an IV at home to help prevent dehydration.

Education[]

From 2016 to 2017, Abbie studied at Pontotoc Technology Center. It is unknown what she studied or if she earned a degree, although it is likely this is where she earned her LPN license.

LPN[]

Abbie is a Licensed Practical Nurse in Oklahoma. Her license was issued on August 7, 2017. She worked in a long-term care facility for 2 ½ years as a Nurse's Aide and a Nurse. In 2018, Abbie left her job after she got engaged. She often uses her nursing skills on missionary trips and disaster relief.

Missionary work[]

Abbie and John-David go to the Philippines on mission trips to give people medical intervention.

Pilot[]

Abbie received her Student Pilot's license on August 20, 2020.

Disaster relief[]

Abbie volunteers for MEDIC Corps, helping people around the world hit by natural disasters. She works alongside John-David, some of her in-laws, and some of the Bates brothers.

Wedding involvement[]

Abbie was a bridesmaid at her brother-in-law Justin's wedding to Claire Spivey on February 26, 2021.

She was a bridesmaid at her friends Andrew and Gabrielle Patton's vow renewal ceremony in April 2022.
