Rachel Anna Busenitz (née Wissmann) (born January 31, 1982) is the first child and first daughter of Loren Wissmann and Gloria Wissmann.

She is the sister of Ruth Bourlier, Josiah Wissmann, Bethany Beasley, Andrew Wissmann, Elizabeth Wissmann, Matthias Wissmann, Stephen Wissmann, Hannah Duggar, Susanna Jerred, Alaythia Wissmann, Nathanael Wissmann, and Charissa Wissmann.

She is the wife of Alan Busenitz and the mother of their four children, Kendrick, Autumn, Justice, and Audrey.

Early life[]

Rachel Anna Wissmann was born on January 31, 1982, in Seward County, Nebraska, to Loren Wissmann and Gloria Wissmann. She was the couple's first child, and they went on to have twelve more children after her.

Along with her siblings, Rachel was homeschooled growing up. She graduated in 2000.

Rachel grew up singing and playing the violin in her family's ministry, The Wissmann Family. They started their family band in 1999. They have recorded several albums. They often travel around North America on tour.

Rachel enjoys cooking, baking, gardening, traveling, music, and being active in her church and community.

In August 2011, Rachel met Alan Busenitz in Nebraska. In September 2011, they officially began courting.

Engagement[]

On December 16, 2011, Rachel got engaged to Alan Busenitz at the Bradley Fair Waterfront in Wichita, Kansas.

Marriage[]

On June 30, 2012, Rachel married Alan William Busenitz at Emmaus Mennonite Church in Whitewater, Kansas.

For their honeymoon, they went to Colorado.

Motherhood[]

The couple has 4 children.

Their first child, son Kendrick Alan, was born on January 26, 2016 (2016-01-26) (age 8).

Their second child, daughter Autumn Joy, was born on October 7, 2017 (2017-10-07) (age 6).

The couple suffered a miscarriage on either September 1 or 2, 2018.

Their third child, son Justice William, was born on July 12, 2019 (2019-07-12) (age 5).

The couple miscarried a son, John Matthew, on January 8, 2021.

The couple miscarried a daughter, Faith Elizabeth, on August 4, 2021.

Their fourth child, daughter Audrey Ann, was born in late September 2023.

Health[]

In 2013, Rachel was diagnosed with unexplained infertility. In 2014, she began taking increasing doses of fertility drugs and shots. She also did multiple cycles of Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) that were all unsuccessful.

Rachel sometimes helps her husband Alan on their family farm in Potwin, Kansas.

In 2013, Rachel wrote the songs for her family's album, My Heart, Your Home.
