Tyler Wayne Hutchins (born February 10, 2008) is the first child and first son of Rachel Wright and the great-nephew of Michelle Duggar.
He was placed into the permanent custody of Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar in November 2016.
He was placed into the custody of his maternal grandparents Carolyn Hutchins and John Hutchins in June 2023.
He is the half-brother of Timothy Wright, Abigail Wright, and Levi Wright.
Early life[]
Tyler Wayne Hutchins was born on February 10, 2008, to Rachel Hutchins and an unknown father. There is no father listed on his birth certificate.
On January 23, 2017, his mother married Michael Wright. Tyler's mother gave birth to his half-brother, Timothy Levi Wright, on September 14, 2019. Timothy died on October 8, 2019, when he was 24 days old, due to SIDS. Tyler's mother gave birth to his half-sister, Abigail Mercy-Nicole Wright, on December 17, 2021. Tyler's mother gave birth to his half-brother, Levi Wayne Everett Wright, on February 5, 2024.

Grandmother[]
In August 2015, when Tyler was 7 years old, he was placed into the custody of his grandmother, Carolyn Hutchins, as his mother was unfit to care for him.
In June 2023, Tyler's maternal grandparents were awarded custody of him.
Duggars[]
In July 2016, Tyler's grandmother suffered a stroke, making her unable to continue caring for him. His great-aunt, Michelle Duggar, and her husband Jim Bob, were granted temporary custody of him on August 31, 2016.
On November 14, 2016, Tyler was placed into permanent custody of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar until further notice or whenever his mother's probation was over. His mother, who was on probation for felony breaking and entering charges, is allowed supervised visits with him. The Duggars have since been his legal guardians, but have not legally adopted him.
New life[]
Since moving in with the Duggar Family, Tyler has often been pictured alongside the younger Duggar children, including appearances on the TLC show Counting On. He often travels with the family, with his most noteworthy destination being to Australia. In early 2018, followers of the family have noticed Tyler's grandma appears to be living in the home as well. Although this is unconfirmed, his parents, maternal aunt and uncle, maternal first cousins, and maternal grandparents all live nearby.
Homeschooling[]
As seen on Counting On, Tyler is now homeschooled alongside the Duggar children. This education includes learning instruments such as the violin and piano, which all of the Duggar children study when young.
